Isuzu NMR
The Isuzu NMR is another N-Series variant – more towards the upper end of the light duty bracket. For example, the NMR85H in Kenya is rated GVW ~5,500 kg, powered by a 2,999 cc 4JJ1-TC engine giving ~124 kW (≈ 168 hp) at 2,800 rpm, torque ~354 Nm.
It is best used for applications where you need flexibility, good payload but not the heavy rigid class: e.g., local distribution, staff shuttle, lighter commercial tasks, perhaps short-haul deliveries. Because it remains lighter it may incur less operating cost and may qualify for lighter licensing/road tax in some jurisdictions.
Buying wise: the NMR is important to consider if your business uses a truck often but payloads are moderate and you value lower running cost, ease of driving and manoeuvrability. As always, ensure the body builder matches the truck’s spec (GVW, wheelbase) and check that the engine / parts are locally supported.
Summary: the NMR is a flexible, cost-efficient truck for moderate payload tasks that don’t warrant a full heavier duty vehicle.
